There is a direct coalition between a fanatical JW and a person who
is completely off his rocker. a nut case.
this is one major reason why i dont try to wake up anyone anymore.
they need to take the first step, and then i will help---- if they ask.
otherwise i just listen and marvel at how some of them think.

firstly, there are cash flow problems in wt town.
i don't think it's necessary to list all the cutbacks and layoffs, but there have been many.. their thirst for money seems higher too in my opinion.
more entitled may be a better way of putting it.
A minister in a church in Dallas for many years..He tells of a man in the church who once made a
covenant with a former pastor to tithe 10% of their income every year. They were both young
and neither of them had much money. But things changed. The layman tithed 1 thousand the
year he earned 10 thousand, 10 thousand the year he earned 100 t and 100t the year he
earned a million. But the year he earned six million he just could not bring himself to
write a check for 600thousand dollars to the church. He telephoned the minster and ask to
see him. He bagged the minster to be let out of the covenant, saying "this tithing business
has to stop. It was fine when my tithe was one thousand dollars, but I just cannot afford
600 thousand dollars. You've got to do something, Reverend.
The pastor knelt on the floor and preyed silently for a long time. Eventually the man said,
what are you doing? Are you praying that God will let me out of the covenant to tithe?
No, said the minster. I'am praying for God to reduce your income back to the level where
one thousand dollars will be your tithe!
i haven't yet won the state lottery but i purchased a lottery ticket last night.
if i win the lottery, it's $150 million.. if i win, my name is publicly announced and of course my picture gets into the news.
i will probably get df'ed.. however, will the wtbts accept a hefty "donation' from my 'lucky' winnings?
Six states that allow winners to remain anonymous, Delaware,Kansas,
Maryland, North Dakota, Ohio and South Carolina.

Don Mckay a Kentucky consultant who specializes in advising lottery winners
said this"at least 70% of winners run through the money in 5 years or less, and
it doesn't make any difference whether they win 1 million or 100 million".

I always wonder about this, if I won the lottery would my JW family members except
money from me, Hell yes!!! But I would tell them if you have no problem excepting
$100,000.00 you must go down to the lottery office and sign up for your share.
I may be wrong on this, but lets say I won 10 million after taxes I receive 7 million.. I
shell out each hundred thousand to my kids. Now the kids have to pay taxes again on
the hundred thousand and this would be considered a gift, and gift taxes are more.
Make sense????? In other words my kids would pay double tax.
this is something i think about a lot, possibly because i'm just getting older.
it seems that not only should i finally one day decide what i want to do with my life, but i should also be planning for retirement.. hands up everyone who feels their future has been royally screwed by the wts experience?.
if you were a good jw and followed the wts advice you could well be finding yourself facing middle or even old age without much or anything put aside in retirement savings.
Good advice Simon, but this something to watch for.
Failing health could drain your retirement saving.

What happen if you have medical expenses. A JW ex-friend had a nice
nest egg, but his medical expenses depleted his nest. His insurance only
covered a certain amount. You have this other friend that never saved a penny,
but he have a guarantee incomes until the day he dies and unlimited health care, substantial income that comes in every month and no agency can touch.
It's a bitch growing old....Which guy is better off????

xjwsrock: well I guess it would be a good idea in view of that fact.. How in the hell have they survived
over the years with such little donations?? So maybe they are in trouble, I hope so.

10% of what.. JW's are one of the poorest religious groups. Those JW's who are doing well
financially, hell yes we will give 10%. So what happen, folks that are not well off financially
living from paycheck to paycheck continue to give little, now we have those members that was
donating 10-20% obeying the GB giving 10%. I believe 10% tithing will result in less donations.
You know JW's and their rules..
jonah 3:5-10 the people of nineveh prayed that nineveh might be spared.
god.
answer their prayer and god did not destroy the city.. mark 7:24-30 the gentile woman prayed that jesus would deliver her daughter.
